As promised I bought a teal hat and some rather glamorous white and teal sunnies to spread the BEAT message and have been thinking of you all from Meribel/Mottaret in Les Trois Vallees. Xxx

If the weather is still as cold as it has been these past few days you will be able to wear it to Velindre for our final week. Angela rang today she is coming on Tues to keep me company. She has been searching for teal ribbon to no avail !!!
Have a great time and NO broken bones please we are far too busy lol xx

The hat had my name on it. I wondered whether I'd be bald by the time I came skiing but now I have my cosy fleece-lined woollen hat and it covers my whole head I shan't worry. It is perfect with or without hair. Xx

I hope tomorrow goes well at the Velindre. You should have enough ribbons for the Tuesday session. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Lovely Angela is going too.

Target look as though they're backing out next week T Coleg Morgannwg. Bit of a bummer but I can understand they need to rationalise.

Love to you both. Xxx Annie

I was thinking the ski hat is rather sexy for no hair days during chemo. I miss you all too but limited Internet access in ski resorts. I'm not doing proper skiing, just joining in when I can, and loving it. Xxx Annie

Wendy you don't have to be fit or energetic to ski or I wouldn't be here. It's just all downhill and no challenging slopes for me these days. Boo hoo. But any little regret at loss of faculties is more than compensated by seeing my 4 year old grand-daughters leaning to ski and having all the family here together in our little stone and wood chalet. Yeah, I know, but if I was there, I would just have to go up and try ......... I love the feeling as you whoosh down a gentle run back to the cafe! Great move to enjoy some après-ski with new pals though. The après-ski makes it all so much more special! Have fun. It's blowing a blizzard across my back garden as I sit here looking out this morning. Not what I wanted for spring weather :-(

Wow! How glam! I always wanted to ski but my ex's idea of expending energy is depressing the clutch on an automatic car! My son & his family ski and I am dead jealous! I envy you alll that crisp white and sun!

ENJOY! YIPPEE!

Aren't all men the same!

I met two redoubtable ladies yesterday evening in the bar and neither ski. Their children pay for them to come on skiing holidays and they take the grandchildren to and from ski school. You do see a few people walking on the slopes. These ladies spend the days travelling up and down on the telepheriques enjoying the magnificent views and sunning themselves on the mountain cafe terraces. The parents want to spend the early evenings with their children so these two ladies hit the après ski! They led me astray last night and we've arranged to meet in the cafe this evening before dinner.

Whilst my health permits my poor children have to put up with me wanting to ski but I'd be happy these days to stay on the easy slopes with the grandchildren.

So perhaps you and I might meet up as ski grannies one day. Xxxxxx

I Doubt it now! Too damned scared of broken bones! I skated in my youth but my ma gave my skates away! Thinking it was like riding a bike I decided to venture onto the ice at the winter ice rink in York 10 years ago! Guess what! You do forget and I was far too scared of all those sharp blades. I have tried several times with my grandsons but they skate rings round me so I have given in and given up! LOL! Now I dread the possibility of reawakening the dreaded sciatica!

Hi Annie
You looked really chilled in the picture! We have got snow here at the moment and at present it doesn't look like it is going to stop!
Tommy, our Westie, doesn't mind going out in the garden but absolutely hated the snow in his face when we went down the town this morning- we were going to take him in the park but didn't think he even wanted to do that!
have a great holiday!

We met a dog-in-a-bag today. It was peering out of a lady's shoulder bag. Perhaps Tommy would prefer his walkies that way. Xxx

Snow in Norfolk today but without the mountains of course. Glad you're having great time over there and it might be warming up a bit by the time you get back to the UK.
Like the photo of you in your new hat and shades

Hi Annie
Seems that Lesley has arranged the first aid course in April and its £30 and she's donating £10 for each booking she gets. I may go if I'm ok as there's a 3 year certificate and mine is due this year.
Had my chemo and as usual I'm wide awake because of the steroids. Came to bed at 10.30 and its now 03.20 and haven't closed my eyes yet!!!!
Why are you still awake after all that lovely fresh air?
Love
Jean xxxxxx

Dear Jean, horrid being awake all night so always nice to find someone else on the site who's a night owl. Fell asleep early as I was shattered but then woke as the twins were disturbed. I'm sleeping in the nursery. Not so easy to fall back to sleep these days. All the exercise and fresh air is good!

Lesley is amazing with all her fundraising ideas. Xxxx love xxx Annie

Looking fab, babe. Love the hat, but when I saw this I thought "what a shame she didn't find a teal snow suit" and now have visions of a little teal blob whizz ing down the mountain. I don't care if its not true, I rather like it so will keep it ;-)

Come back soon, we miss you on here! In the meantime, watch that après ski

Dear Sue I only got a cheap teal hat as teal is 'last year' here. Didn't go mad on a teal all-in-one statement as it might be the last skiing holiday so a bit wasteful. Have managed 2 or 3 hours every day bombing down easy slopes and then sitting jelly-legged in a mountain cafe. Best thing ever about this holiday was telling my onc that I couldn't make her appointment this week as I would be skiing. Ha ha. You should have seen her face! Xxx Yes, I, really miss you all. Xxxx love Annie xxx
