Anyone tried Essiac Tea?

Asked by sunny1
30 Jan 2012

I have heard this mentioned a great deal online but am reluctant to mention to onc for fear of being shot down in flames, and for the fear of it reacting with the chemo and making it less effective. Has anyone done any research or indeed tried it? Very interested in replies.

Hi Sunny,

Green tea and ginger tea are the ones we generally chat about, but this is what cancer research UK has to say about Essiac Tea:-

In fact this can be quite an interesting link generally:-

cancerhelp.cancerresearchuk...

The bottom line nothing is proven except chemo and we all know how dodgy that is LOL!

Hi Kate,
I think feeling in control is a very good thing. Exercise, diet and attitude are the things we can bring to the party that an oncologist can not, so you are absolutely right to explore the options.

Thanks Lizzie, Im already juicing like crazy and so far havent had any bad feelings off the taxol carbo, just slight fatigue and thats it, bloods always been good too, not caught colds despite kids having them. Having some more reiki weds too, felt amazing after it last time cleaned the house from top to bottom my energy was skyhigh!

Hi Margaret,
I have tried reiki unfortunately it did not have that result on me, and Sunny's comment made me slink down in my chair with guilt. One of the reasons I have started working a few 0.5 days now each week is because there are only so many months you can stay at home not doing housework! LOL.
