I am so sorry that you are now experiencing pain. What pain meds are you taking? and is it easing it?

I am not an expert on this darling but I would have thought that all cancers become painful at some point. The mass could be putting preasure on the nerves and nerve pain can be excruciating.

First of all you must not suffer this one out in silence - you need to tell your oncologist nurse about this. Have you been given a contact number to call in times of need while waiting for the surgery? If not then call your consultants secretary? Failing this, go through your GP. The doctors receptionist should be able to find you a number to call.
As surgery is close then your priority is getting the pain under control - and this will be done for you quickly if you seek the medical expert help without delay.
I have known ladies with OC to need morphine patches while waiting for their debulking surgery due to nerve pain.

Thankyou Tina for your kind reply. I have been taking ibuprofen and it seems tto take the edge off it, as I said I have gone about my day but its worse if I sit about, if Im up and walking around then I dont notice it so much. I have a few contact numbers like the gyne ward at the hospital and the consultants secretary but I wont be able to get hold of anyone at the weekend and I just dont fancy going to A and E on a saturday evening and be kept in overnight just to be monitored, especially if I can take meds at home. (Ive got some codeine from a few months back so I can fall back on that if I need to).

On monday I will ring the onc's secretary to pass on my symptoms, maybe they will fast track my surgery? At the moment I dont have a date but it will be Feb. It cant come quick enough as far as Im concerned. Thankyou for your reply, my kids are with my ex this weekend and Im on my own so its nice to know there are others out there that can sympathise.

I am so sorry that you are suffering like this and I hope that things are a little better for you after the weekend.The mass may be pressing on other organs or on nerves in the area.

I had pain in my right side which when investigated was found to be caused by a 16cm ovarian mass. It was removed 2 years ago and diagnosed as a borderline tumour. Physically taking this out made me feel loads less uncomfortable and I'm sure it will be the same for you. I was told that if my condition deteriorated they would operate immediately.

However the pain in my side never really went away properly after the operation and I have had all sorts of investigations for it. My consultant thinks that the tumour pressing down on nerves in the area may have caused some sort of damage.I control it fine with painkillers and am now so much better.
